Hi All - does anyone know if this is possible or how this can be done with the current functionality of WIX? I know all of this may not be feasible right now but perhaps some accepts can be done. It kind of combines blogs and forums so sorry for the overlap.
Here is my scenario:
Currently have a log in bar but I want visitors to complete an application questionnaire before they are approved and can join the website. Unfortunately people see the log in bar and immediately try to join via that route.
I have set the site so I manually have to approve members and only approve them after the application is done but want to automate to help in scaling. (if they correctly filled out the application first I send them an email to invite them to join the site.)
My intention is to use these forms to then qualify specific leads, provide relevant content which leads them to join the forum and then ultimately set up consulting meetings after consuming free content over time.
Questions:
Automation: Is there a way to automate a different follow up email based on a response in the form that the user fills out? (I don't mean email personalization. I mean a literally different email. i.e. If the question is "what is your favorite food?" and the person selects pasta - they get an email of my "10 best pasta recipes." If they select guacamole they get " the 5 healthiest avocado recipes.")
Get subscribers to blog vs subscribers to other content: Is there a way to have get subscribers that is specific to the blog while another form addresses other content on the site? It seems like the only option right now is "site members" and "blog subscribers" so someone can't subscribe to other content without also subscribing to the blog posts.
Automation with Workflows: If the person does not set up a consulting meeting after 5 days of filling out the form, I want send them a reminder.
The way I am trying to automate right now is a workflow to add them to a "applied" card and then 5 days later an email is sent.
If they set up a meeting they will automatically be moved from "applied" card to a "meeting set" card. This does not stop the reminder automation however.
Problem: Is there any way to automatically stop an automation if a user takes an action (i.e. sets up a meeting.)? Is there a better way to automate this process?
FORUMS: Is there a way to then give the Avocado people access to specific sections of the forum and the Pasta people access to their own dedicated section of the forum? [I've tried to use member permissions but it seems that access on the forum is all or nothing.]
Thanks in advance if you have any potential fixes for the above, it will be greatly appreciated.
Did you find workaround to this issue? Its 2023 now...and I am having the same question and looking for ways around it
@GrowingBlogger - There are no feature requests in Automations on those topics yet yet. I'll add them and send you a link
@Harel Hilu ok thank you do you have a page where we can vote for these features similar to the blog and forum requests?
@Greta Galubauskaitė See below section of how I was using permissions. I want all 3 of the member roles to have access to the forum but different categories based on their role. The current set up seems like its all or nothing and you cant give a role partial forum access. I will jump over to the forum website to discuss.
Hi, My name is Harel, the PM of wix Automations.
Automation: Is there a way to automate a different follow up email based on a response in the form that the user fills out? We do not support this feature yet but we're going to add this soon - I'll keep you posted.
Automation with Workflows: We cannot condition automations regarding things that happens in site like booked an appointment, so this cannot be done right now and we're working on this feature. However, there are automations that won't send the email if the user "completed" the trigger. Examples: if the trigger is abandoned card and the user completed the purchase and if the trigger is invoice overdue and the invoice was paid.
If you have more automations & workflows questions - you can talk to me directly: harelh@wix.com
Hi, @GrowingBlogger, I am Greta - the User Researcher from Wix Forums. Let me answer your question related to your forum. You can share different permissions to the different groups of people or individual persons. This functionality is called Private categories. When in categories list on the live site, please choose ''edit category" and in the side menu scroll down until you see categories permissions.
Let me know if you succeeded!
P.S. Could you let me know HOW and WHERE did you try setting permissions at your first attempt? So it would help us understand how we can make privacy settings more accurate.
