Okay, so I am unable to find the answer to this (what I assume is a very simple problem to solve) at the support centre so thought I'd try here instead! When I created my site, I placed a blog template on the home page. At the time, I did not have many posts to publish, and so wasn't too worried about them all showing up there. But now, I do not want ALL my blog posts to appear on my home page, and have created a seperate page for them. However, I cannot replace the original blog template/delete it as I would have to delete the entire page.
What I want is for my top 3 posts to appear on my home page, but for the rest of my posts to live in my Blog Page (which has sub-pages as catergories). I don't want to have one of those sites where you have to scroll for 2837612 years in order to see all the posts!
If anyone can help me with this, please do. I'd really appreciate it!
Hi Lydia,
please let us know your site URL so we could better advise, thanks!
Basically you should use custom or recent feed widgets to display the blog posts on your home page and make Blog page having its own dedicated page.
Read about adding custom feeds here: https://support.wix.com/en/article/adding-and-setting-up-a-custom-feed-in-the-new-wix-blog
To add the 3 Posts to your page template you click on the plus sign while editing then its listed under "Lists Grids and More" Just scroll till you find the one you want then drag and drop it onto your home page. You can adjust the setting and manage posts by hovering over it until you get a box outlining it then clicking. I've only got 4 posts so far so I could be wrong but it looks like it will show the 3 newest on that grid. When you click to open and read it, it opens under whatever the separate page/category you created. All the older posts are on those other pages as well they just don't have the image/description on your home page that you click to get there so that's where the menu page tabs and search bar come in.
I hope this helps!
