Blog Post List Options? Image as Button and Image Rollover?

Hi,

I am wondering if there is a way to modify how one interacts with the 'blog list'?

I'd really like to be able to move my mouse over an image and have it trigger an effect like 'greyscale to colour' - these an option for text hover effect but not image?

I'd also like to have the full image act as a button, rather than just the text to the link to the post

Is this possible? Am I missing something?
