I started 2 blog posts to try it out. When I save and publish it shows both posts under the blog link, which is good. But under my Home page it says posts are coming. I have 7 other headings. Both blogs posts show up under some categories, only one shows up under other categories and some categories show none. How do I get a specific post to show up on a specific page?

that doesn't work! I don't have that option when I go to settings. I need certain blogs to show up on different pages and all I can get it to do is to list the latest ones. This article that's linked is out of date

You can use categories to sort your post under different categories. Once you have sorted the post into the different categories, you can add to the specific pages a custom feed (here is how)
You can apply a filter to the custom feed and show only a specific category on that page, that will display only the post that you want on that page.
