I have a blog page that includes the Post List widget and a Tag Cloud as well as a Category Menu. There are several post assigned to categories but when I click on them the original list of all posts stays the same. Another strange thing: in the settings for the categories the URL that is shown for each category returns a 404 error.
For example, I created a category called "test" and assigned one of the published posts to it. In the Categories settings it looks like this:
If I paste the URL into the address bar as it's written in the Category URL slug field shown above it returns a 404.

If I click on one of the categories in the Category menu list on the Blog page the category URL is shown - no error - but just shows the unfiltered blog page instead.
How do I fix this, please?
