I'm pleased to see that the blog system has been improved to allow anonymous comments and no longer requires visitors to create member accounts in order to leave comments. However, we really need comment notification and moderation included in the system.
The system needs to include a switch that will allow the site owner to indicate whether or not they want to be notified when a visitor leaves a comment. Furthermore, the comment block should include required fields for the commenters name and email address. This will allow the site owner to respond to the commenter off-line, when appropriate. I'm not sure if the system is set up so that the site owner can delete a comment but this also needs to be part of the moderation system. It would be ideal if we had the ability to switch on comment approval.
I've built and continue to maintain many Wix websites for clients but only a few have included a blog. One of my current clients recently switched from Wordpress to Wix, partly on my recommendation and frankly, I'm embarrassed that the system doesn't not include functionality for comment notification and moderation that is equivalent to Wordpress. He won't turn on comments until the system includes notification.
I could not find anything on the wishlists regarding comment notification and moderation. Please let me know if this is on the wishlist so I can vote for it. I hope that this functionality will be available very soon because my client is not happy about the omission. Comment notification is really essential to managing a blog with anonymous commenting.
