First of all, I would like to start off this post by thanking the whole product and development team who have worked on this product. It's been a long road, but one that I was and still am excited to be part of, watching this product develop more and more each day as a huge blog user on the Wix platform.
I just wanted to outline a few features and areas that I still think need some thought and attention. I will list this as neatly as I can and explain this as best as I can.
Currently, the RSS feed is not good enough. It lacks a professional look to it. It isn't compatible with Facebook Instant Articles and also when viewed on an RSS reader, it doesn't display the text formatted and is all squashed up. I feel this needs to be addressed.
Blog Dashboard Manager
On the blog dashboard in our site business manager, we need more features:
Search bar to find posts.
Bulk select to delete or move to trash.
Filter posts by a specific author, not just 'others'.
Filter posts by month & year, example: January 2019.
If a scheduled post is successfully published, email author, to tell them it's posted.
In the blog settings, allow us to turn on if a category is required to publish a post.
Live Blog Experience
The blog on a live website I feel currently runs way to slow - compared to other websites. We are essentially loading text and one or a couple more images. This should not be slow. In fact, it should be very near-instant. I have noticed that it seems to load the top part of the post (the author image, post title) first then a few seconds later, the rest of the post loads. I refer these findings mainly to the mobile side of things. I have seen many others also saying the same about loading.
I have a few features that I'd like to see for the frontend of the blog.
More post-layout designs (I have posted many of my examples before) *without corvid
Insert automatic placement of Google Ads in-between text (Wix blog team would need to work with Google API to do this somehow, but it can be done, WordPress have it)
Of course, faster loading. Even if it shows a skeleton lazy loading experience for the first second.
Pay to read more (on specific posts), allow users to sign up for exclusive content.
Ticket at bottom of the top of the site showing next or previous news article (once you scroll 50% down the current post) - see an example click here.
Comments need to guest (if chosen), where they add name only.
More Homepage feed tickers design for featured posts, full-width slideshows. etc.
RSS feed URL's for categories
I hope all of this makes sense and thank you so much for your help and consideration, you guys rock. Thank you! <3
