there are two ways:
1. Hide the blog page and create new pages in the editor with custom feeds, and then link site menu to these pages.
2. Hide the categories list on the blog menu, and in the site menu just add links (instead of pages) to the relevant category (read here more how to hide the categories menu).
Hi there thank you for your reply. After looking into this. I can see that there are these two ways to do this. However, with option one, right now my site is set to this method. And each page is supposed show a custom feed that I have set. But instead of just customizing the posts for each category... when you scroll through the page it's just showing the whole blog, with all the categories. Is this a glitch in the system? How would I go about fixing this. (www.sararozalina.com)
Thank for sharing the site URL, that's very helpful. I see that indeed all posts are displayed in the custom feed despite the category selection and correct category allocation in the post settings. We'll look into it and update you!
Thank you. I look forward to your reply.
One more question. How do I change the social media links that are available in the actual blog post itself? I've gone into settings of the blog post and it doesn't give me the option to change this. For example, where the facebook, twitter and google+ buttons are... I want to change the google+ for pinterest. But it's not an available feature I'm guessing?
On further observation. The only thing I can actually do is "manage posts" but I can't make any changes in the blog "settings."
it is not possible to customise the social share icons as for now but it is in our near plans.
regarding manage post - could you please clarify your point and add screenshot?
I see you connected your site menu elements to blog category pages, which now display correct posts of that category, however, when you open the blog post page, there are two horizontal menu - site menu and blog menu. I would suggest to hide the categories menu from the feed and post page. Read here more how to to it: https://www.wix-blog-community.com/blog/updates/show-or-hide-your-blog-menu. Make sure you do it also for the post page, which you can access from main blog settings:
@Simona Griskute I've responded below... I apologize I forgot to attach it here.
Thank you for your response!
In the first two pictures, I show how the individual pages are assigned custom feeds, but shows the all posts feed instead of the specified posts for each page. I'd prefer to assign the pages as opposed to the links. But I guess this concern would have to be addressed somehow first.
In the picture below, I show how applying some of the blog post elements changes don't come into effect. For example, the comment display doesn't show up even though it is check marked to do so. Until today, when I had the page views box unchecked, it still showed the page views. That however, seems to be resolved. This is what makes me think it might be a blog glitch?
I see that display settings are working fine - comments counter is shown on your blog posts, which is good news.
As for your pages - I see that on the published site the custom feeds shows correct posts as per assigned category. However, in the editor the custom feed shows all posts even despite the category being assigned correctly.
You mentioned you would rather assign the pages instead of links. So I advise you to unhide the 'Beauty page', 'Welness page' etc, and delete and re-add the custom feeds to these pages with categories assigned. Also to delete the linked pages. You can practise this on your duplicated site.
Let me know how it works!
