Hi, expect improvements to performance in the near future :)
The amp version is super fast and gets 99 score on google (soon it's going to be available for all users)
Keep in mind that the initial screen you see when you use the google tool is for mobile (not for desktop) - they are testing really slow connections and in territories we don't really have readers. Anyway, the desktop performance is much better - and will be much better soon
The regular version of this post on desktop gets 52, but again, we should expect it to be better soon
Many years ago, when the Wix blog just started, the only reasonable quick solution was wordpress.
The old blog that wix had was a great fit for small blogs, but not for a professional blog that Wix needed for her millions of readers
The new blog was built from the ground up to support professional bloggers and I am happy to say that during the last few months a migration process was on the way from wordpress to the wix blog.
I guess that next week we will see wix main blog using it's home grown wix blogging system for it's millions of readers.
To achieve that, the blog team needed to make many improvements to performance and SEO to meet the high standards of the marketing department in Wix. These improvements were done for the benefit of all Wix users - so this is great news to all
During the migration process we also learned how to better move posts from wordpress to Wix without losing the SEO and traffic - I guess we will do something with this knowledge sometimes in the future
A nice thing that also happened, is that the blog team built an amp version for posts. See example:

Also mobile will be improved
The Wix blog thats hosted on Wordpress is still faster. Nearly 50% faster , and it feels a lot faster when scrolling
This is a speed score for the photography blog
The amp version loads well. The other migrated blogs I still find slow though.

Some of the Wix blogs already moved. See examples:

Once this process will be done, we can be sure that the Wix Blog will be the best blogging system for professional bloggers
Yes, it runs on Wordpress :)
