I'm using Wix to run my blog site, and the pain just never stops. Every time I try to get anything done, I'm lost in a morass of fresh cryptic vocabulary and perverse documentation.
Below is just one example. "The Wix Editor" sounds like a simple term, except I've discovered the Wix site design editor is completely different from the blog editor. The site design editor offers options like "Go back to ADI" or "Corvid dev mode". How-to instructions like this one https://www.wix-blog-community.com/blog/discussions/how-can-visitors-add-a-comment-without-login-in suggest "switching to Corvid." Is a corvid the spiked gangplank Roman ships used to board other ships? Or is it why everyone's wearing masks?
The instructions go on: "Click the My Blog pen icon on the left side of your Editor." Which is my Editor? The Wix Editor? The corvid editor? The blog editor? The site editor?
I'm not even sure why I'm asking this on a discussion board with a whole section for "Switching to the New Blog," as if everyone understood what the Old Blog was, what the New Blog is, and which one Wix is serving me at the moment. I don't know when the New Blog was released, but if it was more than 6 months ago, is it still the New Blog, or is there a new New Blog I need to know about?
I signed up for Wix as a turnkey way to host my blog, without having to deal with all the Wordpress plugin management and PHP code. But I get the sense the Wix platform is a patchwork of technologies no one is working very hard to unify, and Wix's focus is on ecommerce and marketing, not on making sites like mine "stunning."
Does it get any better?
