It can't be just my site. In order to get through a post, I must constantly save my work and occasionally publish my work. I must save my work in order to use the options that appear when I highlight a section. I must publish my work occasionally in order to not lose any sections I've written. Worse, however, is that my contributors are experiencing the same thing. Am I missing something? There's some good talk in the forums about this app, but how can that be? The blog is buggy beyond belief. It's a pain if you know what you're doing and almost unusable if you allow site members to contribute. Perhaps that's why Wix doesn't allow you to rate it -- lol. You'd think a billion-dollar web development company with a "basic" blog app option would have licked these bugs years ago. I love Wix. Been with Wix for more than a decade. But these blog bugs are more than a little frustrating.

Here's another bug: If your site isn't mobile-friendly, the "recent posts" widget only shows horizontal on phones. It doesn't matter if you select vertical. I had to write my own code and create my own recent posts widget as a work-around. Another problem I'm having is that the default colors keep changing on my blog titles. Sometimes my titles will show up black. I refresh the page, and it's fine, but that kind of thing just looks bad for visitors. Visitors expect seamless, clean, consistent functionality. Apps that work well would be a bonus, too. How am I supposed to monetize, eventually, with cr@p backbone apps? On that note, the real downer, however, is that my community will rely on members' blog contributions. I have about fifteen members ready to start writing. As mentioned above, I need a good, simple, "working" blog. These guys (and one gal) are not tech people. I gave author perms to one of my early-access members to test out the service (my least tech-savvy contributor). He told me that halfway through the blog he was writing, he lost his work and had to rewrite everything. The next day, the same thing happened to me. Developer Tip: Don't just save your work. If the publish button inexplicably disables itself, it won't matter that you saved anything. You must also publish frequently. Save your work when you need access to the formatting options. But once you've made the necessary change(s) to the formatting, you must publish. WTF, Wix. Last I checked, I was paying for this. My money doesn't have any bugs.
Yes the new blog is a disaster. People have been writing about this for quite some time...I'll give another example: when I go to duplicate a previous blog post, it takes one minute to do so. When I then try and edit the duplicated post (using as a template) each letter I change takes 5-10 seconds to change...THE NEW BLOG IS NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME! People have been posting about this since October 2018 -
No, that's not the problem. Save works fine. The problem is that I keep losing the options to modify text. As soon as I start typing in new text, if I highlight any text, I can no longer use the options that appear over the text highlighted. As soon as I save my work, I can then highlight and use the options.
Another issue is that occasionally the "publish" option will disable and can no longer be clicked. I (and my users) can still click "save," but it doesn't actually save. And the publish button stays disabled. The only thing you can do is refresh the page, but you lose all the work. Also, there this odd issue where sometimes I'll visit my blog post, and the large text is black. If I refresh the page, it goes back to my selected color of yellow, but what is that issue and why must it happen. It's all very irregular and quite disappointing.
The blog app has a built in autosave so you do not need to save nor publish, your changes are saved for you.
