Hi there!
While the new blog performs quite well on desktop, it performs really badly on mobile. Check the video bellow. The custom feed takes 40 seconds to load. I tried on several devices. Is there any solution? Do you experience the same issues?
Thank you!
Thank you for replying. I tried everything you mentioned but it's still the same. I have no animations at all, and the rest of page appears almost after 2 - 3 seconds. The only problem is with the custom feed. The main blog page loads quite more quickly. You might check this ( https://2nikaias.org ) But the custom feed with such a slow performance, is giving such a bad impression to visitors. I guess I will have to remove it for now if there are no other recommendations.
P.S I was trying to post this comment using my smartphone. I gave up since I discovered that I am not able to write a single phrase. Everytime I write a word and I click on space, the word is being duplicated. I tried changing keyboard too. I think there is a bug while using the autocomplete function. Have you experienced anything like this?
More improvement needs to be made on the Mobile Performance for the WIX Blog specifically on the image loading.
Now you can increase your blog load time by making sure there isn't a ton of extra requests your website is making. For example in stead of adding the social media icons (within editor - add social) which connect (social-wix)- you can add buttons and link them to your social pages.
Be Sure to use Fonts that are not heavy and do not use more than 3 font types, I'd highly recommend also that the font used on the main site is the same within the Blog settings. I'd recommend using Helvetica for headers and Helvetica Light for descriptions.
Image Sharpness - Jpeg not PNG all your images - and be sure to disable Image sharping within your WIX Editor. Settings - Image Sharping - Make sure its selected as "None"
Animations - If you have a Blog on your websites landing page like I do I'd recommend you disable all animations to give higher priority for your blog to load.
Turn on WIXCode under "Code" and create a Pre-Loader that shows a loading screen (Interactive and interesting to distract your visitors while your website loads content in the background)
Here is the starting code for this:
