I’m designing a new website - SRCneighborhood.org.
This web site is intended to be private amounts the 200 or so residents of our community. Very nearly all the web pages are being restricted to “members only”.
I am planning to have four or five pages which are provided for members interaction - a chats page, some announcement pages, etc. The facilities provided by the WIX Forum mechanism support what I need for each of these - any member can create a new post and any member can comment on the post.
However, I would like these all to be completely separate from each other - there should be no way of “confusing” one with another. Ideally, I think I would like about four or five “Forum " pages, each with a single Category. But I can find no way of having more than one Forum page. So, as a compromise, I’ve created several Categories, and have put a full (external) web link path to each individual Category page in my top level menu. I’ve “hidden” the Forum page itself and made it accessible only to the website designers. Essentially, I want to completely hide the existence of Categories from the website members. They should just see each Category as a top-level “thing” in its own right.
But there are still the Category links at the top of each Category page. Is there a way of removing these?
My specific questions are:
1) is there a way of having several independent Forum pages, each containing a single Category?
2) Is there a way of removing the “Categories” button at the top of each Category page?
3) Is there some other App or mechanism which will do what I am seeking to do so that I would avoid the use of Forum altogether?
Many thanks for your advice.
