After numerous promptings and reassurance that we would not lose anything, I'm soooooo regretting moving our magazine and news stories to the the New Wix Blog. You CANNOT GO BACK! And here are the major things missing that isn't communicated during the crossover.
No search window! With thousands of stories how on earth can our editors find a past story that needs an update or duplicate and update as a fresh story? Such a pain!
No pretty formatting options. Since these are magazine articles and we love color, we liked the font options and colors. Gone gone gone. And all the pretty formatted articles in the past defaulted to goofy headers with some caps and some not. Disaster for us!
Ads are wonky. The htmi ads are appearing wonky on the converted stories. Another disaster for our business.
Missing advertiser tags - These are now hashtags with no data that we can cull info for the advertiser like we used to be able to. DEALBREAKER.
No insights on individual stories now. We used to be able to SEE all the stats on each story. HUGE PROBLEM. Our advertisers loved this.
We have no choice but to move everything to a word press blog ASAP ASAP. Merry Christmas to us! NOT!

NEW BLOG

OLD BLOG, Everything circles is gone. Goodbye tags, insights, search window and settings.

Hi @Katrina K,
I understand your disappointment as you were unable to find some of your important features on the new blog. Recently we released blog search on the live site, now we are working on the search in the business manager. We are also working on tags.
I contacted you on the email to offer you help, but still want to give some updates on your questions here as well:
- Pretty formatting options: You are right, we have little bit less formatting options on the new blog and we are constantly working to deliver new options. We do have color text and colors should transfer from the old blog. Here your can read how to change the text color.
- Ads are wonky. Can you please explain more on this? The only difference I noticed, they are not centered on the new blog.
- No insights on individual stories. Stats from the old blog are not transferred, but you should be able to see new stats on the Blog analytics. They can be found under 3dots near create new post button in the business manager. More info can be found here and thanks to Robert who help you on this question :)
All in all, i do agree, the old blog dashboard was more feature rich and user friendly. :)
The HTML component in the new blog is weird. I agree with that too. It doesn't seem to work with certain HTML elements. It's very fussy.
In regards to your concerns about not being able to see stats for each story - actually, you can.
Yeah, there really needs to be a search bar. I have 3,000+ blog posts and It's a complete nightmare.
Not having Search and Grouping is big problem for Blog with over 100 posts. It is demotivating me to create new blog posts.
ik,r. So annoying.
