Hello,
I'm now moving my site to Wix, and my site is a blog is a training blog that contains a lot of lists that explains the user what to do step by step. Many times I'm adding a screenshot, but if I'm doing it when numbers list is turned on, then the next paragraph will restart at 1 instead of continue the previous list item.
I don't see any option for me to decide wether the next paragraph should start at 1, continue the previous one, or the option to decide which number it should start.
I do think that when offering Number List option, the ability to continue or restart the numbering should be offered too.
So right now, I'm unable to use it so just put a number before the text but of course it will not indent the text.
I would also like to control the indent, so the numbers will not be indented and to create 2nd & 3rd indent. In my case, when teaching something it is really important.
Thank you,
Shlomit
This is absolutely horrifying. I already made plans to use the blog for public professional purposes and writing numbered paragraphs may be expected. It is very disappointing if I need to give up numbering because it is not possible to easily have numbering in the right order, regardless of whether images or bullets or other text intervene, like in any word processor.
I found a workaround for our recent recipe post. Essentially we wanted to insert images within a numbered list and in doing so the automatic bulleted list feature starts the numbers over at 1 underneath the photos. Not good. To remedy things here's what I did. 1. REMOVED the auto numbered list.
2. MANUALLY typed the number before each paragraph (e.g. 1. 2. 3.)
3. BOLDED the number.
4. INSERTED my photo (if using photo)
5. INDENTED the manually typed list using the indent feature. The result was exactly what I was hoping for! You can see an example on our live site plus score a recipe for frozen margarita pie at: https://www.homestyleaustin.com/post/no-bake-frozen-margarita-pie
I have been struggling with this same issue a lot. I am trying to insert a numbered list interrupted by subheadings, and then continue on with the same numbered list. A short example of what I'm trying to do can be seen below:
Develop leaven
1. Mix leaven ingredients together and let sit until doubled, about 4-6 hours
Autolayse and mix
2. About 60 minutes before leaven is risen to correct height, mix flour and water together
3. Let sit for 60 minutes
4. Fold leaven and salt into dough until well incorporated
... and so on
Since when I manually recreate the look of a numbered list with multiple spaces, it looks horrible when it is longer than a single line. I can't believe there is not an option for "Continue Numbering" like there is in MS Word, but hopefully someone has a solution.
Hello @Shlomit and @Alessandro Dionigi,
Thank you for your enquiry and sorry for a late answer.
Unfortunately as of now there is no direct way to use this option in our Blog; however there are a few work-arounds I can suggest.
you can add numbers manually and change their font settings in a way that appeals to you
You can use an HTML code and customise it however looks best to you.
Here's an example of the HTML code you may use:
<ol> <li>one</li> <li>two <div><img src="https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5e4e9b_921022aaef4e45448266679103f3488d~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_886,h_581,al_c,q_90,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01/5e4e9b_921022aaef4e45448266679103f3488d~mv2.webp" style="width: 500px;"></div> </li> <li>three</li> </ol>
when pasted it will show this way:
Kind regards,
Tigran 😊
How is this not avaible yet?
This is still a problem now, I don't see why a solution to this cannot be easily implemented. Additionally there is no option to number sublists in the format of say 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc. Could you please implement this as I'm sure would be useful for many folk.
