I've been trying to figure out for ages how to ensure the alt text I input for a photo gallery within a blog post will appear, and I can't figure it out for the life of me. I'm pretty sure it just isn't an option, but figured I'd ask in case I'm just missing something (that happened with the last issue I had - it was possible to change, but in the most complicated way nobody would ever think to try, and Wix made it seem like it was NBD).
Here's what I've been able to find via Wix support:
I found this request for "clickable images in blog post galleries in the new wix blog", so I assume that means this is still an ongoing issue. So, why do we have the option to input alt text for these blog post photo galleries, when there's no way to actually see it once the blog post is published??
No matter if I input alt text on the images for a blog post photo gallery, all that happens when I hover over the images when viewing the published post is a Pinterest button appears (which I also don't really want).
Does anyone know if there's a way to make the alt text appear, or do I have to keep listing everything I want to say below the photo gallery (which is awful) until Wix gets their act together? I've tried everything I can think of.
I've seen many people say this when submitting similar complaints, but...
It seems these simple issues keep coming up for everyone, and we always hear the same thing: "thanks for letting us know you want this, we'll get on it" and nothing's changed (and I know I'll receive the same response on this post, too).
Everything I see people complaining about are uber simple features we had in the Old Blog; if it was possible before, why isn't it available to us now? They should've brought over EVERY aspect of the Old Blog, while ALSO adding new features. Not getting rid of things people actually used. We still have very limited options for fonts, font sizes, etc. That's one of the most simple yet biggest aspects of creating a blog post!
The only thing keeping me with Wix at this point is fear of trying to learn a new program, and they have my money (even worse for me, I'm Canadian, so it costs me $200 every time it renews instead of $150). Unless these issues get sorted, I'll be leaving Wix when my plan expires, and unfortunately for me, that's not until March 2020.
