I'm trying to do the same thing. Adding a category menu widget to my home page (not blog page) to be able to navigate to the blog from the home page. I also want it to be horizontal, but vertical seems to be the only option for that?

I'm sorry, but it's not possible to hide specific categories from category menu. You can vote for this feature here: https://support.wix.com/en/article/wix-blog-request-selecting-which-categories-are-displayed-in-the-blog-menu
@Dovydas Bernotas Thank you, although I'm not trying to hide categories, I just want the category menu formatted horizontally rather than vertically. Is that also not an option? Thank you!

Hey @fdg ki,
Go to Blog Feed settings -> Display -> Blog Menu and then toggle on Blog Menu. Like in my example below.
After this, you can remove the vertical menu if not needed. Let me know if you succeeded.
