As previously mentioned before, I was not happy with the new blog because of the features (still kind of not). I stopped the import process. Now that the old blog is really really, I mean really glitchy and buggy, I decided to make the new blog for everyone to view, not just members. Once I pressed import urls to new blog, I couldn't move my posts over anymore. How can I add more posts from my old blog to the new one? @Simona Griskute @Maya Ekron
I'm worried about this. I haven't started using the new blog and having read about what it offers vs the functionality of the old one I think it's maybe best to stick with the old one for now. But I'm worried about creating posts in the old blog that will become increasingly uncared for by Wix and then what happens to my old blog posts if I start using the new blog? Can they be imported to the new Wix blog?
They can be imported to the new blog. However, I stopped the import process and know I can't move my posts from the old blog to the new blog. It's saying "Now Delete the old blog."
@wixlover Hi, could you please let us know how many posts you wrote on top in the old blog which didn't migrate?
Hi @kathy,
could you please let us know what exactly makes you hesitate about switching to new blog? The new blog has modern and clean looking layouts, better SEO, good performance, supports bolt and Wix code, to name a few. We are working on adding the missing important features to the new Blog like Scheduling, Blog Analytics and further customisation.
We developed a tool which allows to automatically migrate the posts from old blog to the new, keeping the SEO. After migration, you can still access the old blog - we do not delete it.
That's not terribly encouraging. Does anyone who has successfully transitioned to the new blog, or who is confidently and happily staying with the old blog, have any advice?
I'm having big problems with the New Blog too. I've been an every other week blog writer with the old blog for about a year. I was told that I needed to move to the new blog and published my first new blog on Sunday. My subscribers are just now starting to receive the email with the blog (more than 48 hours later) and the link doesn't work! Come on Wix!
I'm on my subscriber list (to make sure that things look good), and I still haven't even received it yet. I also don't know why they would do away with the ability to add the "Get Subscribers" app automatically to the bottom of each post. How does someone sign up for my blog now? Support keeps telling me to add the App to the footer of my website, but I don't want to clutter it with that! Come on Wix!
Hi Jonathan,
I am sorry to hear you experience issues. Please make sure you have enabled in settings the option for your subscribers to receive email notifications about the new blog post. You can read about it more here: https://www.wix-blog-community.com/blog/updates/send-email-updates-about-new-blog-posts-to-site-subscribers
As for the non-working link - please contact Wix customer support (support@wix.com) providing the details.
If you have the version of the new blog with the post page customisation enabled, you can re-size the post window and add the get subscribers app to the side-bar. To check if you have these settings, go to Main blog settings--> look at the bottom for 'Go to the post page':
Oi... mudei a template do meu site wix... como faço para importar o blog do site antigo? Só vejo opção de importar do wordpress...
Hi @portalkiss,
Congratulations on upgrading your site!
We're working on allowing to transfer the blog posts from one Wix site to another. It's a complex project so will take a while but unfortunately due to the policy I can't share ETA. To receive an email notification once it's possible, please vote for the functionality here.
