We’ve been reaching out to Wix in the continual hope to ask whether there has been any progress on a fix or whether we can begin discussing options over a short-term fix to at least make our site functional to some degree.
Since migrating from the old blog ALL 6,000+ articles have been redirected to a 404 error page. Wis have said it was a fault their end, but will not talk to us regarding creating a short-term fix. Just keep saying its with the developer.
Update our end: We’re now approaching SEVEN full days that our site has been down. Google Search Console is now picking up the errors, Google News, Apple News, Flipboard, Microsoft News are no longer crawling our site due to the errors. Each day this issue continues our SEO is being hit and has a major impact long-term. As asked for since day TWO, we need at least a short-term fix to allow our existing NEW blog content to be crawled and indexed. Three years of hard work is NOW going down the pan!
One of our long-term advertisers has pulled their campaign due to us not being able to give them an indication when a fix is likely to come. WE NEED WIX TO TALK TO US AND GIVE US AN INDICATION WHEN A FIX WILL BE FOUND. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING FOR SEVEN DAYS.
Don’t let this be your business. Don’t migrate.
Hey,
I got the news that support has resolved this issue. Would be great if you could double-check and see if you can reproduce it.
Let me know if you need further assistance!
Credit where credit is due. The issue on site now seems fully resolved. The only casualty we can see so far is that our Google News indexing hasn’t returned just yet, but I’ll let the Google Search Console validate the fix on the broken links first. Fingers crossed this won’t be effected.
Thank you for resolving, but as feedback communication over that seven day period has to be better.
