"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength."-Deuteronomy 6:5 NKJV
As I read today's chapter Deuteronomy 6 as part of my daily devotions, I've noticed that not only in this chapter but throughout the bible, God reminds us that He doesn't take putting other gods, idols, careers or even money before Him lightly. With each commandment that God bestows upon us is a promise. He never says, "Because I said so" or "Do this or else." God is merciful, just and fair, He always gives us an explanation and shows us the natural consequences of the wrong and right choice. And He always allows us to choose, whither it be life or death, right or wrong.
What do your daily choices say about you and your character? Do you have an idol in your life that you struggle with?
