We are happy to introduce a new addition to the Category Management of your Blog Manager -
Now you have the ability to control each Category URL!

When creating a new category or editing an existing one, you'll see a new field called "Category URL". You can also include one extra slash in the category URL (e.g., categories/music/indie-rock).
Enjoy!
Vielen Dank. Welche Vorteile hat es, wenn man die Kategorie URL verändern oder erweitern tut?
Hi K.H, great question!
Search engines care about URL slugs. Google and other search engines never share their ranking algorithm, but it is obvious that URL slugs are important signals that affect ranking and indexing.
Being able to control the slug helps you add extra context to your page. It also helps Google understand what the site is all about.
For example: www.John.com/blog/categories/why-url-slug-is-important
Is much more clear than: www.John.com/blog/categories/91724-loly
Not only do search engines see your URL slug - users see it too. A good URL is visible not only on the browser, but also on search engine result pages. Users who debate which result to click may also look at the URL which is very prominent on the page. That’s another reason to keep it as professional as possible.
So, keep your URLs short and descriptive. Cut out the stop words (“the”, “a” & punctuation).
In addition, flexible URL slugs give you the option to optimize the URL for SEO using relevant keywords.
Hope this was helpful :)
@Rotem Rosensweig Ok, thank :-)
Great new feature ! :-)
Awesome!!
Not clear how to use the category URL. I'd like to use it for internal links--from a button to display all the posts with that category assigned. I cannot enter a URL link for the button in this format: /categories/my-category-label . The form tells me the URL is not valid. And if I link to a "page" I only get to choose from page names. Since I'm in unpublished draft mode, I can't test using the URL: https://mydomain.name/categories/my-category-label
It would be helpful if the form for URL entry allowed a relative URL like /categories/my-category-label.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
This is the url suffix of a category page. The full URL is: your-site-address/categories/your-category
