Ever wished you could offer subscription plans to your blog? Or wanted to restrict some of your posts to members only?
Now you can! Our latest feature release, Subscriptions, lets you do just that.
Create and sell subscription plans to your posts, so readers can buy access to your most exclusive content. You can also set up free plans for members only. Read on to learn about this new, exciting feature and how to make it work for you.
Sell subscription plans to exclusive posts
You can add any post to a subscription plan, while writing it or even after publishing. Monetize your exclusive content and sell plans on your site to all visitors. Customize your plan benefits and policies, and choose from one-time or recurring payments. Choose as many posts as you want, to add to as many plans as you want--there’s no limit.

What will your readers see?
Posts that have been added to a subscription plan will appear to readers as an “Exclusive post.” Readers will also see a short preview of the post and a button to Subscribe. This gives your readers the chance to subscribe and get access to that juicy, exclusive content.
Free plans for members only
If you just want to set up some posts as exclusive to members only, free of charge, you can do that too! Simply select “Free Plan” when creating your plan. Reward your loyal members by limiting special content to members only.
To get started:
From your blog dashboard, click Create New Post.
In the post editor, click on “Sell Subscriptions” in the sidebar.
If you’re on the Wix App:
First, make sure you have Pricing Plans added to your site.
Then, in post settings, click on the new tab, “Subscriptions”.
Feel free to leave feedback in the comments below! Happy selling!
This is great, thank you Wix Team. While I do not see the ability to charge for subscriptions to blog posts in my current structure, utilizing the free options allows me to put a registration wall on the blog so readers get notified. I have two questions: 1. I would like to show more of the blog post before the subscription wall hits. Is there a way to do this? 2. How will this work with AMP posts?
Hi Zach, thanks for your input! To answer your questions:
1. At the moment, no. We may have more customization options for the preview and paywall box in the future, though.
2. Right now, AMP posts and paid posts are not compatible.
@Wailana Kalama Do we need to take steps to allow Google bot crawlers to crawl blog posts behind the paywall?
@Zach - FlockingAround.com Hi Zach, Google bot is not able to crawl content behind the paywall.
This is great news!
But when I tried it, I found that I could not accept online payment under my personal website plan unless I upgrade it to business plan.
I think most bloggers or freelancers like me, we don't have many products to sell (like e-commerce), so we choose personal plan, not business plan.
We would be appreciated if WIX could find a way to allow us really sell subscriptions & accept online payment.
@Wailana Kalama There is a MAJOR bug in this. If a plan is archived, and a blog post is tied to it, you cannot remove that blog post from the archived plan. Currently, there is no way to make that plan active or delete it. This is a MAJOR issue.
I see, thanks for pointing it out! We'll look into it.
@Wailana Kalama thank you! I appreciate what you all do!
