I just became a Wix user and here are some features I'd like to see in the new Wix blog:
- Ability to add tables with a GUI (without having to type HTML)
- Ability to add footnotes like in Wordpress (WP has the very elegant option of "..." with a nice popup)
- Bring animations to blog posts -- let us animate blocks of text and images. Squarespace does this for images, check out this example (scroll down and watch the images: https://www.perell.com/blog/peter-thiel )
- When copying a site into a new site, blog entry publishing dates are overwritten. So something published on May 8, 2017 appears as "1 minute ago" on the new site. Please transfer publication dates, too.
Thanks!
Hi @Marcelo P. Lima,
Thank you for the detailed list. I have added your vote to all those features.
I wanted to ask about the last point, do you mean when you import a non-wix site into Wix or from Old Blog to the New Blog?
Thanks Mario.
On the last point, I imported a Wordpress blog to Wix and the publication dates were fine.
However, when I created a copy of the Wix site onto another Wix site, the publication dates were overwritten with the timestamp of the time of the copy, thus that information--publication date--was erased! This is clearly a bug... thanks.
@Anat Wix @Mario Bañares any thoughts on the roadmap here?
We're now 5 months past and still no ability to add footnotes or tables in HTML in the Wix Blog.
Bump. 14 months and still nothing.
I see you're building amazing new features, like adding paywalls to blog posts. That's great.
But if you can't get the basic tools for writers, fewer writers will come to write on Wix Blog.
Things like footnotes, tables and other features to reach parity with Wordpress and Substack.
At least to add smaller font size that could be used for footnotes would be nice.
