It is really hurting my blog that users have to be members to comment or 'like'. They do not want to be forced into signing up for a mailing list or giving their data over to a website just to show support. It is embarrassing for me as a blogger that my blog demands this of its readers. Also it is really really inconvenient that I have to physically push the publish button at the correct time to publish my blog as it's well known that a cohesive blog schedule is a top way to retain and grow readership. Also....the mobile app doe not show my draft posts so i cant post from it making it almost pointless, AND website contributors can also not see my draft posts which means sharing my personal log in details with people so that they can press the publish button on my behalf. I am very very tempted to move my domain to another platform where these ridiculous problems are not an issue.
Please provide a timeline of these issues being fixed if they are being considered.
Hi Roxanne,
thanks for letting us know your feedback, it's super valuable to hear it.
We are working to improve the commenting experience on blog, and we are taking your feedback into consideration.
Posts scheduling feature is also in our plans, I am adding your vote in the features Wishlist.
Regarding mobile app - very very soon you'll be able to manage the New Wix Blog on the Wix mobile app. Currently you can access your site on mobile browser - simply log in to it with your Wix credentials. You can create, edit posts, also access draft posts and many more. Please read here more on managing your blog on live site.
Regarding the last point of yours - co-writers of your blog are not able to access your drafts - that's how it works on new blog. If you could give more context of the roles on your site and what permissions you would like people in those roles to have, that would be very helpful.
Thanks!
Simona
I agree with the commenting and the scheduling of posts - would be cool.
Any updates on this? Is there a way to open up blog posts for likes and comments without having to sign up, and only sign up as a member if you want automatic updates for new blog posts?
Hi @Eva Dittrich,
we are working on the solution allowing to comment without the sign-up. As a matter of policy, we don't provide the ETA, but it will be possible in the near future.
This is also very important to me. I came from blogging for my city's newspaper to branching out on my own so that people are able to comment without signing up. Looking forward to this - please add me to the wishlist!
@Heather Rusaw-Fazio Your vote for the feature is added to the features Wishlist! You can also vote here on Wix support and be informed by email when the feature is launched.
I have just voted for this feature as I have had numerous grumbles from non members asking if they can comment without signing up. While I understand the value of having a members feature, ultimately this also discourages new users from sticking around.
@Brynley Jones,
thanks for the comment. We are working on introducing post page customisation to all users which will allow to toggle off the Wix comments system and use alternative third-parties comments solutions available in the app market. We'll announce here on the forum once post page customisation is open to all users.
@Simona Griskute fantastic, I look forward to it
Wow! I think it is hard to believe that this issues has not been corrected almost a year later. I am busy and being able to schedule post would save my life. I am not sure why this wasn't an automatic feature since it was there with the previous wix blog
Hi @Jay'l Harris,
thanks for joing Wix Blog Community and also beta-testers group!
We're about to release the scheduling feature, it will be available very very soon.
Users can toggle off the Wix comments system in the post page settings. Please read more here. You can also add FB comments plug-in.
Let us know if you have more feedback for the blog!
The reviews for the Facebook comments plug-in are terrible, as are the reviews for the COMMENTS app. The number one thing we need is the ability to comment on a comment. There's no reply button under every comment. If I want to respond to a commenter, I have to create an entirely new comment. And everyone who commented on the post gets an email notification about that! See the reply buttons on this discussion board? That's what our blogs need! Every blog I've ever seen has that. Very basic
Hi @maryannfarley118,
thank you for posting your needs and reasoning behind. I'm adding your vote to the Wishlist. Also, you can leave your vote here and get email notification once this feature is available.
Regarding the notifications about the each of the comment under the post - very valuable feedback, thank you for sharing, we'll take it into consideration.
