Last week saw the WIX team remove the Mosaic option in the layout and replace it instead with Tiles. Mosaic allowed several features such as a brick like layout to accommodate portrait and landscape images, a title and a capture of a variable letter count of the post content. In all a very satisfactory option I have enjoyed for several years in both the OLD and NEW Blog. I was surprised to find the unannounced layout change when I discovered by 3 wide brick layout was now automatically replaced with a giant 2 tile wide layout that compromised many of my article images. Making a quick adaptation I have now adjusted to the Tile Layout. Two issues remain.... there was no notice.... there was no communication .... it just happened... deal with it .... The second main issue is that the Right Click option is not available. This once very handy availability has gone... my question is when will it be restored and what urgency does WIX place on restoring it as it affects every single wix BLOG creator and every single wix blog reader. I look forward to an update lei

I moved across from OldBlog to New Blog with over 10,000 posts. My website is a community newspaper and has been using Wix for nearly three years. I originally chose Wix as the platform as it provided EXACTLY what i wanted by way of layout, font, graphics and ease. For more than two years it was perfect, simple and stable. Then things began to change. I saw the OldBlog was being downgraded and Wix efforts focused on NewBlog with continued encouragement to move across to the new platform. I did... the transition was smooth.... however... my website required a major change in presentation due to the templates of the new Layout that either compromise graphics in Custom Forms, limit multiple font choices within a post or both. I have been more than patient and have tried to find work-arounds waiting for promised developments however they just aren't coming. In all honesty, if I was asked to recommend Wix NewBlog i would have to say NO as it is at present. I am persevering as best I can in a hope it improves and is able to deliver even the basics that OldBlog was able to offer. The NewBlog continues to deliver daily issues that I keep discovering. Strange things like the Post Page overriding the layout you have set or the Search Engine tab (Chrome) of a post not being forced updated to the correct Post description - while it is no big deal ... it is .... because it makes my website look cheap and dysfunctional. While i firmly believe there is a dedicated team working on the NewBlog I also firmly believe it was rolled out too early and should, at the least, have had the barest of functionality that was offered by Old Blog to then reveal OLDBLOG Plus +++ celebrating all the things that OldBlog had plus much much more... So to sound disappointed but I am. I will persevere as long as possible as I have dedicated considerable effort to my website and as it is a daily 24/7 newspaper I need to be mindful of its continuity that is now in doubt under the Wix NewBlog platform.

Fellow Bloggers and Wix team, I have begun using Lightboxes as a work-around while waiting for my wishlist items. They work well however there is one annoying user complaint that I would like to raise... As i scroll my NewBlog posts the Lightbox for that page appears around 25 seconds. By this time I am a fair way down from the top wanting to scroll down even further. HOWEVER - when I close the Lightbox I am immediately returned to the top of the page. Why? Is it possible to simply close the Lightbox and NOT default return to Top of Page? My wish list for the NewBlog is: - Custom feeds be able to present as BRICKS as you have with the Primary NewBlog feed - Author be from Members List OR randomly keyed in by OWNER if contributor is NOT a member - side bar list of last 20 posts returned as it was in OldBlog There is much happening behind the scenes and I look forward to them as they are released. In the meantime I am happy with my work-arounds

My website is www.beagleweekly.com.au ; an Australian free, on-line, community focused newspaper servicing an area of 3000 sq kms and a population of 40,000. I would like to offer my recent experience of updating from Old to New. The Old Blog had 10,000 posts attributed with tags (not categories) that enabled separation of posts to be displayed on pages for Sports, Opinion, News, Community, Music, Arts, Food.. etc Tags worked very well HOWEVER the New Blog works with Categories. I had some reservations about the Old2New update and wrote to Wix Help with my concerns and they were terrific in the timely and generous assistance and reassurance they gave me. To be honest I knew that the update would bring me to a Blog Manager that was still being developed and I knew that the Old Blog layout option (Bricks) I used were not available, as yet, for the new Custom Feed however knowing the website feed would be so much faster I decided that if i could be flexible I could restore the newspaper to operational with a very fast turnaround. I batch edited my old posts before Old2New mirroring existing Tag values to the Category. Once done the Old data was ready and it updated seamlessly. Once confirmed it was then a simple task to verify the data came across with all of its Categorys, links, text and images. All GOOD. In all it took me only a few hours to add new Custom Feeds driven by the NewBlog to replace the Custom Feed from the Old. I do not consider myself an advanced user of Wix so I needed to be sure that using just the onboard tools available (no custom html) I was going to be able to build the update while the website was still LIVE. I admit that there are things I have conveyed to the New Blog developers that I would like to see reinstated that had been available in the OldBlog manager and in the display options. My emails have been acknowledged and responded to with positives that they appreciate my input and are endeavoring to return the features to the NewBlog. Was it too early to transfer over? For me the answer is No as the benefits of a faster, sleek NewBlog has seen a marked improvement in website performance that equals reader pleasure and an improved experience for them. In time as the proposed changes in the Wishlist are rolled out I will adapt my website to suit. To make the transition there are times when you will need to do a work-around. So long as you are prepared to accept that the OldBlog is different to the NewBlog and currently presents differently with fewer design variables available I strongly recommend the update If however you have doubts, reservations and questions write to the Wix team. They have been there everytime I have sent in a question. Thank you in particular to S and J who were TERRIFIC. Feel free to ask me any questions and if i can i will answer them. Mine is no doubt just one of thousands of update stories. I my case it was a seamless update and I look forward to the many proposed improvements to be rolled out for NewBlog. Lei
Community Newspaper - excellent transfer from Old to New - more than 10,000 posts content media
